The primary responsibilities are to develop reporting and other tools to provide data transparency and business metrics to all levels of end-users through the organization from staff/end-user to executive level. Responsible for scoping, researching, designing and developing reporting for assigned business unit(s). These reporting needs may include work queue reporting up to executive dashboards. Handles a large number of ad hoc requests for data and analysis from both internal and external sources (such as regulatory groups or auditors.) Once developed, maintains these reports (and business rules and definitions behind them) to ensure consistency and accuracy over time. Provides feedback on the data being reported such as identifying trends, or other areas for data exploration and analysis. Reporting Development Work with business to define key metrics and reporting needs Identify data sources, coordinate data feeds from external sources and develop or coordinate the development of reports, queries, forms and spreadsheets to meet process and information needs of business unit Analyze reports of data for duplicate data or other data errors Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets Maintain / Monitor data dictionary, reporting inventory report and other relevant documentation Data Analysis Regular and ad hoc analytics dives into dashboards and other data to provide meaningful insights Write up analysis and findings into cohesive and clear documents for senior/executive management to understand trends or patterns Ad Hoc Data Queries, Analysis and Exercises Provide data to various stakeholders within different parts of business as needed Ensure accuracy and consistency with standardized reporting Data and Reporting Infrastructure Work with business to identify additional data needs likely from external sources Work with IT to define these data needs and requirements to automate data import or build out database to store Work with IT on defining framework/technology for reporting and report delivery Daily Participate in special projects as needed, and performs other duties as assigned. Talking with co-workers and branch operations to communicate and gather information Critical thinking and comprehension skills Data analysis, exercise good judgment; interpret and understand discussions and instructions; intrinsic motivation; ability to learn and utilize new information, systems, processes, etc.; creative thinking and problem solving skills; ability to read and understand complex charts, graphs, documents, manuals Knowledge, Skills, and Ability: These are considered to be Essential Job Functions Strong written and verbal communication skills including listening and retaining critical information and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly Good interpersonal skills to work effectively with others and develop partnerships internally and externally Skills and knowledge to compile reports and perform analytical functions. PC Skills expert skills in Excel, and proficient in Word and Power Point Database expertise strong skills in writing SQL queries and developing objects such as views and stored procedures SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) skills would be benefit experience with SSRS or other reporting portals is a must Excellent analytical and mathematical skills and applications Ability to explain and document work product and methodology Collaborate with business analysts, subject matter experts, and other team members to determine data mapping and correctness requirements Participate in special projects as needed and performs other duties as assigned Excellent organizational skills and the ability to be flexible, prioritize work, and follow through in order to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail; multi-tasking skills; excellent time-management skills Ability to work independently and take initiative, not requiring significant direction Flexibility and adaptability in a fluid and rapidly changing environment Willingness to do more than basic job requirements as needed IV. Education, Training and Experience Required: a. Special courses/licenses needed: None b. Formal education required: Bachelor degree with a major in business, accounting, finance or technical area preferred, or equivalent skills and knowledge. c. Prior experience needed: 3 years in data analysis role 3 years banking and/or mortgage industry experience; knowledge of mortgage banking terminology and processes.
