Analytics Manager Major Functions: The Analytics Manager, directly and through a small team of Data Analysts and Analysts, is responsible for all the reporting and analytics functions for multiple functional business units within Prospect Mortgage. Primary functions of the team are to develop, produce and maintain all the reporting needed for those functional units. Examples of the reporting include:  Executive reporting / dashboards  Portfolio performance tracking and reporting  Operational metrics and reporting  Exception management system and rules  Risk analysis metrics and reporting  Ad hoc data queries from internal or external sources The Analytics team must also produce analytical work product focused on the development of solutions and/or tools that improve processes, create efficiencies or help manage the business through data manipulation, modeling or delivery. Examples include:  Platform and system integration selection, planning, implementation  Business development and modeling of new possible revenue channels Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Job Functions are indicated with an Analytics  Work with various business units to define analytics needs  e.g. reporting, metrics/KPIs, data issues/inconsistencies for reconciliation, tools.  Develop analytical solutions from concept through final implementation.  Work with IT to define, develop and continually enhance best frameworks for data delivery.  Develop and maintain an operational analytics platform focused on the monitoring and measuring of operational data and metrics. This platform is the foundation for management of operating performance and is the basis for continuous improvement.  Develop clear and concise documentation, instruction manuals and end user procedures for operational data and metrics.  Plan, execute, and deploy the development of operational analytics and metrics to deliver data that is required to manage and refine operational execution.  Oversee systems to ensure proper use of reports and metrics in the operations.  Assist in training related to the use of various reports, data, metrics, etc.  Analyze problems, determine cause and initiate corrective action.  Translate complex statistics into recommendations and action plans.  Serve as thought leader in aligning strategy with business goals and objectives  Submit all developed code to IT department for security and storage.  Work with and submit completed projects to IT database manager for placement of permanent reporting. Senior/Executive Management Reporting  Regular analysis and review of reporting and data developed from the assigned functional areas.  Provide insight into real-time trends and performance.  Report findings to Senior/Executive Management for decision-making and steering overall business forward. Supervision  Work planning, prioritization and assignment; establish and monitor accountability for subordinates job responsibilities  Training: a. Technology, methodology and definition as well as manage projects within their scope from concept through execution. b. Mentoring subordinates c. Working environment: DESCRIPTION OF WORK ENVIRONMENT OR HAZARD FREQ % of Time Heated, A/C office Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:  Strong skills and experience in the collection and analytics of data focused on delivering usable data for management  Thorough understanding of Mortgage Originations and/or Servicing concepts and processes  Demonstrated skills in all aspects of report development  consolidating data, creating measures and metrics and presentation/design  Advanced PC skills including Microsoft Office Suite  chiefly Excel, PowerPoint and Word  Experience in database (SQL) structure and design and use in data analytics and reporting  Technical skills in writing SQL queries and creating databases or database objects is a plus, as is experience with SSRS or other reporting portals  Analytical, mathematical and critical thinking skills and applications  Problem-solving and continuous process improvement skills  Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and listening)  Demonstrated supervisory/management skills  Attention to detail; multi-tasking skills; excellent time management skills  Ability to work independently with minimal supervision  Flexibility and adaptability in a fluid and rapidly changing environment  Willingness to do more than basic job requirements as needed Education, Training and Experience Required:  College degree preferred in Business or related field, or equivalent skills and knowledge  1+ years working in mortgage banking at a supervisory or management level  2-5 years of related experience
